Michelle Uchiyama, President and Founder of Charitable Connections, Inc. has been developing leaders and empowering neighborhoods and communities for 20 years. Her vision, courage and compassion have given Charitable Connections, Inc. leadership tenets into the future and communication tools to impart wisdom to leaders to effect future generations.
Lisa Sutton, an independent human resource professional, has worked with hard to employ individuals to help them realize their goals of gainful productive employment. Ms. Sutton has led green construction workforce development initiatives at the Clark Atlanta Environmental Justice Center, other historically black colleges and universities and in non-profit organizations that have been directly responsible for the empowerment of those with barriers to employment. She is a trained NxLevel Instructor, a substance abuse case manager and a recognized curriculum developer and implementer. Ms. Sutton is married and has two children.
B. Waine Kong, Retired CEO Association of Black Cardiologists and current President of the Heart Institute of the Caribbean Foundation. Waine was instrumental in the leadership of the Association of Black Cardiologists over 20 years. His vision for healthy individuals and families provides leadership to Charitable Connections, Inc. as we work towards health as a focus for life. Waine has been very successful in leading campaigns such as the Seven Steps to a Healthy Heart program. His leadership led to significant research on heart disease in minority populations and started a campaign to promote healthy hearts called “Children Should Know their Grandparents”. Waine is committed to health and wellness as an integrated part of living and lifestyle management. He is active on several boards and holds a J.D. in Law and a degree in Psychology.
Jeff Mitchell, Real Estate Investor. Jeff has spent 20+ years in residential, commercial and industrial real estate. Jeff has experience in property management, real estate acquisition, and real estate sales and marketing. Jeff is very active in the community and aligned with several different non-profit organizations in the metro Atlanta area. Jeff was instrumental in the redevelopment efforts in the Lakewood Heights community and is a powerful connector of resources.
Sarah Heaton Kennedy, Community Health Advocate and Professional. Sara recently left a career with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in community health to become a consultant and stay at home mom. Her vast knowledge of community health has impacted organizations all over the United States. Sarah was strategic in the implementation of the PACE- Environmental Health study completed in the Adamsville Community in 2010 where she brought together a team of her CDC associates and empowered the community to take the knowledge gathered and use it to be change agents.
Kim Scouller, Jade Law. Kim is not just a lawyer, but a lawyer with vision and compassion. She is a consumate financial professional who led the largest brokerage of Aegon corporation with a strong focus on compliance and corporate spirit. Kim has a strong passion for sustainability and health and connects with our desire to create a blue ribbon team of professionals to impact urban and rural communties through healthy community design.
